General Practice Policies & Informed Consent
SCOPE OF PRACTICE Somatic Theology operates under the category of wellness, education, and stress-reduction services. Somatic Theology providers are not acting as licensed mental health professionals, physicians, massage therapists, or physical therapists unless specifically stated. TRE® sessions are provided as somatic education and self-regulation training under Louisiana law. Services are not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure physical or mental health conditions. You agree to consult an appropriate healthcare provider for any medical or psychological concerns.
HEALTH & SAFETY DISCLOSURE TRE® has no known contraindications, but may involve physical or emotional sensations that can feel intense. You agree to inform your provider of:
  • Recent surgeries
  • Chronic conditions
  • Heart issues
  • History of seizures
  • Pregnancy
  • Injuries or mobility limitations
  • Psychiatric diagnoses that may affect participation
TRE® and somatic practices may not be appropriate for certain conditions; your provider may refer you elsewhere if safety concerns exist. You agree to stop the session at any time if discomfort arises and to notify the provider immediately.
MINORS Somatic Theology does not provide TRE® sessions to individuals under 18 without written parental or legal guardian consent. A parent/guardian may be required to attend portions of the session. By booking a TRE® session, you acknowledge that the client is at least 18 years old.
SPIRITUAL INTEGRATION Somatic Theology integrates Christian spiritual principles when appropriate or when requested. Participation in prayer or spiritual reflection is voluntary. Everyone is free to participate to the degree they feel comfortable. The spiritual principles do not affect the physical benefits of TRE®.
SCHEDULING Appointments can be made through our online scheduling system (somatictheology.com/book-now) or email (support@somatictheology.com). Clients are responsible for ensuring that contact information on file is accurate and up to date.
LATE ENTRY For all TRE® sessions, the client is expected to arrive on time. For all TRE® sessions, the last admitted person will be 10 minutes after the start time. Anyone arriving late or logging-on late (virtual sessions) will not be admitted and will be charged the full rate.
CANCELLATION POLICY We require at least 48 hour notice if a client needs to cancel a session or reschedule it for another time or day. Late notice cancellations and no-shows will be charged at the full rate. Repeated late cancellations may result in restricted scheduling privileges.
PAYMENT POLICY Payment is due on the day of scheduling. Clients are responsible for ensuring that payment information on file is accurate and up to date. Somatic Theology accepts all major credit cards. If there are any issues with payments being declined, you will be notified and given an opportunity to update your card or bank information. We do not allow clients to carry balances.
If the session was missed without 48 hour notice, it will be invoiced at the full fee. The banking information or credit card held on file for your account will be charged unless another arrangement has been made ahead of time. Refunds are not provided for missed or partially used sessions.
No refunds are given for completed sessions. Refunds for purchased packages follow the same 48-hour cancellation rule unless otherwise notes.
